Treasures Sight Words

Hi Everyone!

It's been a hit and miss this past 6 months with posting and products. We've had lots of health issues in our family and it's taken me away from posting.

If you're still following, I have updated a slide show of sight words my students use in the classroom. You can download them here! These sight words follow the Treasures Kindergarten series in sequential order. I intentionally placed the words on the black line dividing the green grass and blue sky to help kids get the understanding of those letters than go up "high" and go down "low." If you don't know about it already, Dr. Jean has some great alphabet songs to teach this concept.

Have a great day!

100th Day of School & FREEBIE

Have you already celebrated the 100th Day of School?

Well, we have not! It’s coming up at the end of this week. Our kiddos were very excited to complete a project as homework and I’ve included the information sheet here.

As part of the project, I asked parents to help their child create a display of 100 items. In addition, the parent and child had to work together practicing collections of 10 and thus counting by 10’s to 100.
Take a look at these wonderful projects and if you’d like, download the information sheet for your students as well.
ENJOY!

What a fun way to celebrate the 100th day! And, cover many math and language arts standards, as well as involve parents who are unable to volunteer.

Cash Register Play

Do your students mix up the bills and coins in your toy cash register?

Here's a quick and easy fix! Help your little ones learn where to place the money while learning about it.

All you need is a sharpie and clear book tape to do this!

Now your kiddos will learn where to place the bills. And, how about those coins? Well, that's a fast fix too!

Use the clear book tape to mark each drawer with the correct coins. Your kids will appreciate your help.

Finally, use a picture like the one at the top of this post and attach to the back of the register to show your littles exactly how the inside of the register should look when it's time to put it away.
